Our Soapstone Dosa Tawa is meticulously handcrafted by rural artisans and traditionally seasoned over several weeks using organic castor oil, turmeric, rice water, and sesame oil. This time-honored process makes the tawa ready for use right out of the box—no additional seasoning required.
Designed specifically for soft, spongy Kal dosais and Ootappams, the natural soapstone ensures gentle, even heat distribution that enhances texture and taste. Please note: unlike cast iron tawas, this soapstone tawa is not suitable for making thin, crispy dosais, as its porous surface and heat retention are best suited for soft-style cooking.
